National Retail Federation conference showcases apps that are helping to transform retail

After 106 years, the retail industry’s “BIG show” — NRF’s Annual Convention & Expo — was bigger than ever this year. Held again in New York, NRF 2017 ran from Jan. 15­–17, and drew an estimated 33,000 retail professionals and more than 3,300 companies from across the globe.

Microsoft unveiled the latest digital innovations that enable retailers and brands to thrive in today’s competitive environment by combining the best of digital and in-store to deliver personal, seamless and differentiated customer experiences.

Microsoft’s booth at the show featured a lineup of some of retail’s biggest names and showcased innovative end-to-end solutions to help retailers enhance the customer journey through technology. Audiences were invited to see the power of digital transformation in action and learn more about how modern retail apps are changing the way retailers and consumer goods companies engage with customers. Four of Microsoft AppSource’s partners participated in NRF:

  • AFS Technologies’ Retail Execution app is helping consumer goods organizations win where it matters most — at the point of purchase.
  • Plexure offers its Retail Personalization solution to help retailers engage with customers in a personal way through all of their interaction channels.
  • Avensia’s Storefront app combines Episerver’s e-commerce platform with Microsoft Dynamics 365 so that customers, orders and data such as stock status and campaigns are available in real time across all channels and managed from a single system.
  • Orckestra Commerce Cloud for Dynamics 365 for Operations helps retailers, grocers and branded manufacturers quickly launch responsive online storefronts with built-in omnichannel capabilities.
