Copilot Readiness for Microsoft 365

Copilot Readiness is a comprehensive two-part process that involves assessment and implementation & training. The primary objective of this service is to ensure that both your tenant and your users are fully prepared to embrace the new era of AI conversations.

Assessment The journey towards Copilot readiness begins with an in-depth assessment phase. This phase leverages best practices that Finchloom has accumulated over years of experience in the field. It involves a thorough review of all content locations within your organization, such as SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive, to gain a complete understanding of where your data resides.

A key component of this phase is the utilization of Microsoft’s Semantic Index. This powerful tool maps all the data in your tenant and illustrates how it’s interconnected, providing a holistic view of your organization’s data landscape. This information is invaluable in assessing your readiness for Copilot and identifying areas that may require additional attention or resources. Implementation

Once the assessment is complete, the next step is implementation. This stage involves configuring and enabling specific features within your tenant to optimize it for Copilot readiness.

Training But it’s not just about technology; it’s also about people. Preparing your users and admins to interact effectively with Bing Chat Enterprise and Copilot is a crucial part of this process.

Training focuses on familiarizing users with AI conversations, using tools like the large language model and prompt engineering. The ultimate goal is to seamlessly integrate Copilot into your organization, transforming the way you interact with technology.

Timeline The Copilot Readiness service is offered as a comprehensive package deal over time. Finchloom will guide you through each step of the process, from securing your identity and access management systems, to training your users on new tools.

As Copilot is in development, with a proposed November 1, 2023 launch date, Finchloom is prepared to help foster access to early adopter programs when they become available. This proactive approach allows your organization to stay ahead of the curve and start using these new tools as soon as they’re available. Approach The engagement will be approached in the following manner:

First, our Copilot Readiness Assessment will include a review of Tenant Best Practices for Security and Configuration. This will involve a thorough examination of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, as well as an assessment of SharePoint, One Drive, and Teams, focusing on file collaboration, access, and permissions. Additionally, there will be a review of organization file management, sharing, and collaboration strategy, along with an evaluation of SharePoint security and architecture.

The next steps involve reviewing Microsoft 365 Copilot Requirements and Technical Requirements, as well as conducting a Licensing Gap Analysis and a Semantic Index Review. The findings from these assessments, including observations, risks, and recommendations, will then be presented.

Subsequently, a remediation action plan will be developed and prioritized in collaboration with the client. If licensed, the implementation of Bing Chat Enterprise and Microsoft Search in Bing will be carried out as part of the action plan. The tasks will be executed based on their prioritization.

To ensure effective utilization of the system, various training sessions will be provided. These include IT Administrator Training, Bing Chat Enterprise / Copilot Administration Training, and training on the proper use of Microsoft 365 for Admins. End User Training Sessions will also be conducted, covering the proper use of Microsoft 365 for end-users and providing an introduction to Prompt Engineering.

After Finchloom certifies the client organization is Copilot Ready, ongoing updates and information regarding the future of Copilot general availability will be provided to keep everyone informed.
