The Product attribute extension facilitates the use and maintenance of products with attributes
The add-on increases everyday productivity by quickly searching required information across the system, which has specific product parameters (attributes, engineering attributes, hierarchies, categories).
For example, check the on-hand quantity for a product with a 10mm diameter, or find the right product when creating an order, or find customers who place orders for Dell laptops with the 'business' model, or slice sales data by product attributes, etc.
Standard Microsoft D365 FO allows you to add additional product information without modifying the standard application. Until now, the lack of search functionality has prevented this functionality from becoming fully unleashed. Extend a product with an unlimited number of attributes and search products by hierarchies, categories, and attributes.
The Product attribute search benefits:
- Easy to use. Add-on works out-of-the-box once installed with no additional parameter setup required. Hierarchies, categories, and attributes become instantly available for searching on the form.
- Easy to extend. Attribute filters and columns can be added to any form (standard or custom) via UI configuration (without development).
- Quick search. The products are filtered on the form instantly, using the original form query, showing real-time data without custom synchronization tables. Filters support multi-value lookup, ranges, wildcards, And\Or logic, cross-hierarchy and cross-category search, attribute translation.
- All-in-one addon. Add-on contains the Search by attributes feature, Display attributes feature, Create product with attributes feature, and many more useful enhancements.
- Find products by attributes, engineering attributes, hierarchies, and categories.
- Find other data by attributes, engineering attributes, hierarchies, and categories.
- More than 65 forms are supported. For example, slice inventory on-hand by product and/or engineering attributes.
- Adding new lines with the possibility to filter by hierarchies, categories, and attributes.
- More than 20 forms are supported: Sales lines, Sales quotation lines, Purchase lines, Purchase requisitions lines, Trade agreement lines, Counting lines, Transfer order lines, etc.
- Displaying attributes as columns on a grid.
- More than 70 forms are supported by default. For example, attribute columns can be added to the sales lines, inventory on-hand, or released products form, etc.
- Intelligent product number and name based on category and attributes:
- Assign category and attributes when the product is created.
- Set up product Id number sequence per category.
- Generate a product name based on category and attribute values.
- Take control of product duplication:
- Check and warn if the created product has a non-unique set of attributes.
- Sales by hierarchies, categories, attributes:
- Sales attribute analysis workspace.

The Product attribute extension functionality requires no additional parameter setup to work. All functionality is built on existing standard setup options. This ensures that even in existing applications using hierarchies, categories, and attributes, the add-on will work out-of-the-box once installed, with no additional parameter setup required.
