Data Security Engagement

The Microsoft Purview Data Security Engagement is an immersive experience that is designed to help organizations kickstart or deepen their use of Microsoft 365’s data security and compliance capabilities. By leveraging Microsoft Purview services, Connection helps identify real, customer-relevant sensitive information and risky user behavior that may impose a data security risk. Identifying and mitigating data security risks is crucial for maintaining trust, ensuring a secure workplace, and safeguarding company assets and privacy. Our Data Security Engagement provides actionable insights into data security, privacy, and compliance risks.

Engagement Agenda: Pre-engagement meeting - An online meeting prior to the start of the engagement to go over logistics, timelines, and expectations.

Data Security Check: The Data Security Check is the core activity of the Data Security Engagement. It leverages Microsoft Purview in your Microsoft 365 environment to identify data security risks in the organizational data. This covers Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management. Optional modules cover Compliance Manager, On-premises Data Stores, Windows 10/11 Endpoints, and/or Microsoft Purview Communications Compliance.

Microsoft Purview Portfolio Overview: Introduces the customer to the Microsoft Purview vision and outlines Microsoft’s approach to providing integrated compliance. This will cover areas such as data governance and compliance vision as well as integrations across Microsoft 365, Azure and third-party platforms. Key capabilities that will be highlighted are; Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management, Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery and Compliance Manager.

Recommendations and Next steps: The findings and risks that were identified by the Data Security Check activity are mapped to Microsoft Purview products and services. At the end of the engagement this mapping will be discussed, and actionable next steps will be defined and presented

Engagement Outcomes: • Microsoft Data Security Risk Report that includes findings and insights from our discovery process. • Microsoft Compliance Manager Tenant Assessment report with actionable suggestions and key improvement actions. • Strategic Recommendations to support your key initiatives that will identify risks and provide actionable next steps to mitigate them, providing a clear roadmap for strengthening data security and compliance capabilities in your Microsoft 365 environment
