Deliverables & Phases

Phase 1 – Project Kickoff & DITL Analysis

We begin with a kickoff meeting and a DITL discovery workshop to map your current Dynamics GP processes (financial close, payables/receivables, reporting, etc.) We identify critical requirements and any unique customizations in Dynamics GP that must carry forward. By walking through a “day in the life” of your finance team, we document how transactions flow in Dynamics GP and outline how they will flow in Business Central.

Phase 2 – Environment Setup & Data Migration Prototype

Integrato sets up your Business Central SaaS environment (production and sandbox) and establishes connectivity. We then run Microsoft’s Dynamics GP-to-Dynamics Business Central Migration tool on a sandbox to import your core Dynamics GP data (chart of accounts, customers, vendors, open AR/AP, GL balances). This serves as a prototype company where your own data appears in Business Central. We review the migrated data with you, addressing any mapping adjustments (e.g., how Dynamics GP segments translate to Business Central dimensions). This hands-on review helps your team see their information in the new system early, and we refine configuration based on findings.

Phase 3 – Configuration & Gap Resolution

Using insights from the prototype, we configure Business Central to fit your business. This includes setting up financial modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking) and other needed areas (e.g., basic Inventory if you used it in Dynamics GP, or multicurrency, etc.). We also handle any identified gaps – for instance, if Dynamics GP had custom reports or specific workflows, we find standard Business Central solutions or scope minor extensions. At the end of this phase, we have a working Business Central system tailored to your company, loaded with your master data.

Phase 4 – Training & User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

We train your end-users through the lens of their daily tasks using the new system. For example, accounts payable clerks learn the new vendor invoice process in Business Central, and accountants learn how to run financial statements and close periods. Training sessions are recorded for future reference. After training, your power users conduct UAT on critical workflows (e.g., entering a sales invoice, posting a purchase order receipt, running an aging report) to confirm everything works as expected in Business Central.

Phase 5 – Go-Live & Post-Go-Live Support

We plan a cut-over date (often aligned with month-end). At go-live, we migrate final transactional data (e.g., ending trial balance from Dynamics GP, any open transactions that changed during UAT) into the production Business Central environment. Your team starts using Business Central for daily operations, with Integrato consultants providing post go live support during the first week. We closely monitor and assist with any issues (for example, helping reconcile first Business Central financial reports to Dynamics GP’s numbers to ensure accuracy). By project’s end, Dynamics GP is fully retired and you are running smoothly on Business Central. We include a handover of system documentation and offer an optional support plan for ongoing maintenance.

This offering is scoped for a standard migration of core financials from one Dynamics GP company database to Business Central. It assumes use of Microsoft’s standard Dynamics GP-to-Dynamics Business Central data migration kit for a straightforward transfer. The fixed fee covers up to 2 company entities and moderate data volumes. If you have multiple GP companies, extensive third-party Dynamics GP add-ons, or large historical data sets to bring over, we will discuss adjustments to the timeline and cost.
