What Happens During Azure AD Registered Device Migration?

When devices are registered in Azure AD, they are tied to the source tenant. To move them to a new tenant, Cloudiway performs several actions to ensure a clean transition:

• Break device registration: Removes the association with the source tenant so the computer can be registered in the new environment.
  

• Reassign Office licenses: Existing licenses (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) linked to the source tenant are deactivated. Upon next login with target credentials, Office automatically applies the new license.
  

• Reset OneDrive synchronization: The OneDrive Sync Agent is disconnected from the source. At the next login, synchronization restarts with the new tenant.
  

• Reconfigure Outlook profiles: The old Outlook profile is deleted. On first launch post-migration, users are prompted to log in with their new email, and Outlook automatically creates a profile linked to the target mailbox.
