A 3-day hands on workshop introducing you to development basics for Dynamics 365 apps and helps prepare developers to use the Visual Studio IDE and tools to extend or customize the application.
A three day workshop covering development basics for Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management apps. In three days you will learn basic concepts of object-oriented programming. Students will learn to create various types of objects and how the objects relate to each other. Basic architecture, troubleshooting tools and other development tools are also covered. It is recommended that participant have some object oriented programming experience.
Agenda
Day 1: Day one will begin with introducing learners to the Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management apps architecture and development concepts. You will also learn about the Visual Studio development environment, tools, best practices and tips for Dynamics 365 development. Additionally, you will then learn how to create new objects including extended data types, enumerations, and tables.
Day 2: We will dive into data entities and working with data, including how to extend various types of objects. Much of the time is spent creating and extending objects and working with data entities. On the second half of the day, you will learn how to work with user interface objects including creation of new forms, working with navigation and extending existing forms and user interface elements.
Day 3: On day three, you will be introduced to the X++ development language and learn about basic syntax, statements, exception handling, and database manipulation. Next, we will review changes in X++ and how to work with class extensions. The day will finish with learning about deployment to environments and Lifecycle Services (LCS) concepts and functionality.
Deliverables: By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to understand and use Visual Studio for development and be familiar with the new development tools and features with Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management. This workshop includes training materials and an apps environment for the duration of the workshop.
