The OneSec Defender for Endpoint – Migration offer helps your organization in the process of migrating to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Windows 10/11 devices. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint helps your organization to prevent, detect, investigate, and respond to advanced threats. Our offering provides the guidelines based on Microsoft best practices, assistance, and support to Migrate to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint from non-Microsoft endpoint protection. The migration process requires an approximate time of 5 weeks and consists of 3 main phases: Phase 1- “Prepare for your migration”: During the Prepare phase:

  1. Update your organization's devices.
  2. Get Defender for Endpoint Plan 1 or Plan 2.
  3. Plan roles and permissions for your security team
  4. Configure your device proxy and internet settings to enable communication between your organization's devices and Defender for Endpoint. Phase 2- “Set up Defender for Endpoint”: During the Setup phase:
  5. Enable/reinstall Microsoft Defender Antivirus, and make sure it's in passive mode on devices.
  6. Configure your Defender for Endpoint Plan 1 or Plan 2 capabilities.

  8. Add your existing solution to the exclusion list for Microsoft Defender Antivirus.
  9. Set up your device groups, collections, and organizational units. Phase 3- “Onboard to Defender for Endpoint”: During the Onboard phase:
  10. Onboard your devices to Defender for Endpoint.
  11. Run a detection test to confirm that onboarding was successful.
  12. Confirm that Microsoft Defender Antivirus is running in passive mode.
  13. Get updates for Microsoft Defender Antivirus.
  14. Uninstall your existing endpoint protection solution.
  15. Make sure that Defender for Endpoint working correctly.
