Customize your filename with placeholders

Use preset filenames in your files and avoid sending unpersonalized documents

When sending documents via Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the system will automatically generate a filename for you, however this automatically generated filename only includes the type of document and the number. This is often not enough and you end up manually adding more context to the file in the assoiciated mail.

With Connector 365 Custom Filename app it is possible to define your own default filenames either on a per report basis or customer/vendor basis. When doing so you are able to freely define the new preset filename. It is also possible to define your own placeholders for the given report, allowing you to create dynamic text for your filenames. Just enter your desired placeholder and link it to a field from the report.

The setup for the filename is quick to access via either document layouts for customers/vendors or the report selection and is easy to understand.
