Organization Chart by MAQ Software

Organization Chart is an excellent Power BI custom visual for displaying hierarchical information. It offers customizable connector links, font formatting, and support for images. Highly recommended! 👍

This is a nice org-structure visualization tool, however has some limitations and constraints placed on the source data that limit it's usability (e.g. conditions around the root node etc). It would be great if this visual supported navigation up/down an org structure hierarchy showing "3 or 4" levels at a time, however this is not feasible with the source data constraints. Controlling the layout / width of each node box is also limited, causing overlap of these nodes when only a relatively small number of (e.g. 10) "sibling" nodes - I suspect this may be a bug as the format control is there, it just doesn't allow reducing the width below a certain value for some reason. I nice org structure chart visual, but with some limitations that severely limit it's use-cases.

There are not many custom visualizations available in AppSource but from those the MAQ visual is the best. It's easy to set up once you have your data organized the proper way. It does what you expect is must do and presents your organizational data in a neat way.

If you have 10 or more employee attached to one manager, chart will become overcrowded and unable to use

Having not the cleanest data from AAD it's not possible to show any part of the org :(

With a basic table of employees, departments, and service lines, this visual can't show the basic relationships without major powerquery gymnastics to break apart the data, assign indexes to each level and then rejoin into a new table.

I was able to make it work when the IDs started from 1 and were consecutive so I had to prepare my data for that. a good enhancement would be to bypass the consecutive count.

Several attempts using the skinniest data possible, jsut one level of hierarchy continues to just show a blank visual and the text "Inappropriate Data". I tried a dataset where the ids were less than two digits (which is not what I need) and still no luck. When trying to see the data view, data does not show until you click on one of the fields. Closed, started over, no luck.

When I use the visual, nothing is displayed (white screen). Maybe it needs the IDs to start from 1. My IDs are high integer numbers with no sort order or system, only random IDs (and their parent IDs). Besides of that the visual seems to have problems with bigger organizations (error info too many entries). The demo Power BI Desktop file works well. Would be great, if there is a solution.
