Shift Roster
por Engage Squared
Roster and request the on-call medical staff you need.
Role-Based Messaging for Microsoft Teams lets medical users quickly and easily roster and request the on-call medical staff members they need, allowing them to deliver patients the care they need. This allows medical staff to be rostered on as on-call for a shift and then requested by any other staff member via their desktop or laptop computer when there is an emergency. By shifting the focus of on-call requests away from individual staff members to their roles, staff can directly request and contact someone with the correct role, bypassing the complex and inefficient switchboard. Staff are instantly notified of these requests through Teams, allowing them to respond quickly to an emergency.
For critical hospital settings, Role-Based Messaging importantly provides a robust system for allowing multiple staff members to be rostered onto one shift. Administrators can create and edit shifts from within the roster view in the app on their desktop or laptop. Here, they can assign multiple staff members to a shift in a particular order. Staff members can also assign themselves to shifts. If an administrator creates a shift with no staff assigned, staff with the same role as the shift will be asked to assign themselves.
Staff members receive requests for shifts they are assigned to in this order. Role-Based Messaging uses deep links within these Teams notifications to allow on-call staff to quickly respond to a request. Medical staff can accept or decline these requests if they cannot make it, so staff can have the confidence they need that someone will be able to fulfill their request. If a staff member declines a shift, the next staff member rostered onto the shift is notified in their place, so requests have multiple places to go to ensure that there is someone who can respond.
To power this rostering experience, Role-Based Messaging provides a simple and easy-to-use roster interface that allows users to quickly find the shift for the correct date, time and role using a simple filter and calendar layout. Shifts are shown in a familiar calendar-style weekly grid and can be selected to view more information including assigned staff, the role type, and comments. Role-Based Messaging also provides tabs for viewing upcoming shifts and past shifts, viewable on desktop or mobile. When a shift is requested, it automatically moves into upcoming shifts, allowing staff to more easily see where and when they are needed.
