Protect and Govern Sensitive Data Workshop: 4-Week Workshop

We live in a time where digital technology is profoundly impacting our lives, from the way we connect with each other to how we interpret our world. This digital transformation is causing a tsunami of data, estimated by the IDC to be over 163ZB (zettabytes) by 2025. This represents a tenfold increase from the amount of data created in 2016!

In the past, organizations primarily dealt with documents and emails. Now, they are also dealing with instant messaging, text messaging, video files, and images. The internet of things (IoT) only adds to this explosion in data. Protecting your information is critical to ensuring trust and meeting internal/external regulatory requirements but is an ever-increasing challenge as people create and share data across boundaries.

While mobility and cloud services have helped users become more collaborative with increased productivity, securing and monitoring data has become more difficult. You need to protect your sensitive information across devices, SaaS applications, cloud services, and on-premises environments. Before you can protect your data, however, you must first know where it resides, how it is being used, what the associated risks are, and if the data is even still needed.

This workshop consists of a 4-week agenda:

WEEK 1: Prepare for delivery: The engagement will start with a remote preparation meeting. This pre-engagement meeting is an online meeting organized one week prior to the start of the workshop. During this meeting, we will discuss upcoming activities, decide on optional modules to be included, and establish a list of internal resources needed by our team in order to complete the exercise. The remainder of the first week is intended to be used by you, the customer, to coordinate logistics, allocate resources, and prepare for the workshop.

WEEK 2: Configure and enable Automated Discovery: The second week marks the actual start of the engagement. Together with you, the customer, we will configure and enable all necessary services to begin Automated Discovery in support of the Data Risk Check.

WEEK 3: Automated Discovery continues: During the third week, the Automated Discovery/Data Risk Check will continue to run.

WEEK 4: Analyze, report, and workshop: In the fourth and final week, the findings will be collected, analyzed, and mapped to Microsoft 365 solutions for risk mitigation. Privacy and regulatory risks will be discussed and a roadmap containing recommendations/actionable next steps will be provided.
