The Code Collaboration Tool Built for Remote Teams
Improve team performance through communication, integration and transparency. CodeStream is a powerful extension to your favorite IDE that works with existing systems to streamline workflow and increase productivity. Connects to GitHub, Jira, MS Teams and all your favorite tools.
Take the pain out of code reviews, resolve issues faster, and improve code quality by simplifying remote and asynchronous communication among developers on your team, anywhere.
CodeStream saves your team’s discussions connected to the blocks of code they refer to, so that a knowledge base builds up over time. Imagine future members of the team, or even you just trying to fix a bug in someone else’s code, getting the benefit of working from an annotated codebase!
CodeStream for MS Teams allows you to share those discussions to any team channel. Your teammates can jump directly from Teams into their IDE of choice with the appropriate block of code, and corresponding discussion, automatically opened.
How does it work?
Just like commenting on a Word doc, select a block of code and click on the Comment icon. Alternatively, click on the + button at the top of the CodeStream pane and select “Request a Code Review” to initiate a code review right from your IDE.
Click on the MS Teams logo to install the CodeStream bot, and connect any Teams channels that you’d like to share to.
Back on CodeStream, select the appropriate channel and then submit your comment.
Your teammates will get notified on Teams, and can click on the Open in IDE button to jump directly to the code, and discussion, in their IDE.
A CodeStream account is required to use the app. Download the CodeStream extension for VS Code, JetBrains, Visual Studio or Atom and then signup via the CodeStream pane that appears in your IDE.
