Microsoft’s Sustainability Calculator provides our cloud customers with transparency into their greenhouse gas emissions associated with Dynamics 365 and Azure cloud usage. This Preview version has been updated December 2020 and is available to anyone to download.
Microsoft’s emissions reports are determined via methodology that was validated by Stanford University in 2018 and conducted in alignment with ISO standards for measuring greenhouse gas emissions. These figures extend through scopes 1, 2, and 3, which means that they include emissions from Microsoft’s extended network of vendors and suppliers. Microsoft is the only cloud provider offering transparency across scopes 1, 2, and 3. Reports reflect Microsoft’s investments in renewables as well as the fuel energy mix in the regions where your computing takes place alongside other factors.
