Dimension Inference and Constraint 365

This extension comprises of two sys-admin controls to manage the accuracy and interrelationship of Dimensions in Dynamics 365 Business Central:

1) Dimension Inference, automatically sets values for certain dimensions when a value is specified for another dimension. For example, if a specific department is selected, it can set the customer group and cost center dimensions to pre-defined values. This tool can also make sure that the default values are used, or else the transaction will not be accepted (aka dimension defaulting, dimension presets, data presets).

2) Dimension Constraint, helps keep the Dimension List organized by limiting which dimensions are available for selection. It uses a feature called "Dimension Combinations" and hides any dimension that is part of a blocked combination. This results in only certain dimensions showing in the Dimension List. For example, if State is selected as "x" then the dropdown/pick list for Salesperson will only display the salespeople for that State (aka dimension control logic / dimension business rules / dimension dependency).

Note: this does not block users from creating an alternative combination of dimensions, a user can still enter any dimension value they want regardless of the displayed pick list.
