GoDaddy Office 365 to Microsoft Office 365 Tenant-to-Tenant Cutover Email Migration: 7-Days Professional Service

Seamless, short-term-downtime migration of email service from GoDaddy Office 365 to Microsoft Office 365, ensuring user access and Exchange Online functionality.

Occasionally, a customer needs migration from GoDaddy Microsoft 365 directly to the Microsoft 365 cloud platform.

Our objective is to provide planning, design, and migration of email services from GoDaddy Microsoft 365 to Microsoft 365.

There will be some email downtime with this migration due to the time required to remove the domain from the Source tenant and add it to the Destination tenant. This is because Microsoft only allows the same domain to exist on one Microsoft 365 tenant at a time. Exchange Online Protection (EOP) can’t route email for the domain during the period when the domain is removed from the Source tenant and added to the Destination tenant, assuming the MX record is pointed at EOP. This results in senders getting a non-delivery report (NDR). IT Partner responsibilities

  • Export resources (mailbox-enabled users, contacts, groups, etc.) from the source tenant
  • Import resources to the destination tenant via Azure AD Connect or CSV import
  • Perform pre-stage migration (emails and folders older than 30 days)
  • Conduct final mailbox migration with calendars, contacts, rules, and other data
  • Modify records in domain zones to accommodate migration needs

Client responsibilities

  • Provide a dedicated point of contact responsible for working with IT Partner
  • Coordinate any outside vendor resources and schedules
  • Configure all network equipment such as load balancers, routers, firewalls, and switches
  • Deploy email software on client workstations if Microsoft Outlook or other desktop email clients are used
  • Make changes to internal and external DNS, as required
  • Assist with identifying high-risk users (e.g., top executives, VIPs, users with 50 GB+ mailboxes or 30 GB+ deleted folders)
  • Recreate new Outlook profiles on client workstations, if Outlook desktop version is used
  • Inform users about upcoming changes and provide necessary information

Additional cost items not included in the project

  • Informing users about upcoming changes
  • Customer team training (can be added as an additional service)
  • Migration of corporate documents to SharePoint Online (can be added as an additional service)
  • Desktop software configuration

Upon completion of the project, we will provide a project closeout report. This document will indicate the final project status, including evidence of matching acceptance criteria, outstanding issues, and the final budget. If you require more extensive documentation, it can be provided for an additional fee.

  • Global admin-level access to the source Microsoft 365 tenant
  • Global admin-level access to the destination Microsoft 365 tenant with Exchange Online licenses available
  • Access to your email domain DNS zone

  • The old Microsoft 365 tenant is successfully migrated to the new tenant and accessible to all users
  • All necessary transport rules are created and functioning
  • Email can be sent and received using Exchange Online
