Aspera High Speed Transfer Service on Azure

Aspera, an IBM company

Aspera High Speed Transfer Service

Aspera software dramatically accelerates the movement of data to and from the cloud at rates up to 100's of times faster than standard TCP-based transfers and provides the same transfer speed to all regions, regardless of distance. Aspera Transfer Service is a software service running on Azure that enables high-speed upload and download of large files and data sets directly into object storage. Using the patented Aspera FASP® high-speed transfer protocol, customers can quickly move data of any size over any distance at line speed. The unique Direct-to-Cloud capability integrates with the underlying Azure multi-part HTTP interfaces to enable the fastest file uploads and downloads while adding key transfer management features such as pause, resume, reporting and encryption over the wire and at rest. The service is available as a subscription service, based on the amount of data transferred. Aspera provides a desktop and command line client for use with the service and has enabled the service to support your Aspera Files, Faspex and Shares applications as a fully hosted, managed transfer layer. High-speed transfer of any size files and datasets, at maximum speed, over any network conditions or distance directly to Azure BLOB or Azure Files. Direct-to-Cloud integration with Azure APIs ensures data is written directly to Azure BLOB during the transfer and immediately available when the transfer completes. Complete data security with in-transit and at-rest encryption, and data integrity verification for each transmitted block, as well as automatic retry and resume from point of interruption on failure.
