Report readers want to act on the insights they find when exploring their data in Power BI, and many times, the action happens outside of the product (e.g. send a note, create a task, copy the data). Furthermore, report creators want built-in automation for their users but need to ensure that it’s within the context of the user’s selection.
With Power Automate, you can now empower your report consumers to act on business insights and boost productivity by automating time-consuming tasks without leaving Power BI. Additionally, the automated workflows can be data contextual, meaning that the Flow inputs can be dynamic based on the filters set by the report reader.
Limitations and considerations:
• Requires April 2021 release of Power BI Desktop
• Additional manual inputs to the flow are not supported at this time. We plan to add support for this by our General Availability release.
• The visual is not supported for PaaS embedded scenarios nor in Sovereign Cloud scenarios.
