It is a student's go to tool for every possible problem in academics.

What do you like best about the product?
Piazza helps me connect seamlessly with my instructor and classmates in just one go. Piazza helps me post and answer questions simultaneously in public while also being able to send private messages to my instructor and classmates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Piazza is more like Gmail, and the user interface is quite dull. The fact that its primarily used by students, the app needs to add better features in terms of look and feel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Piazza has an excellent section for dividing the messages subject-wise and also notifying the instructor's important messages showing the number of high-priority messages to be checked.

Academic Query Solver

What do you like best about the product?
With Piazza you can easily ask queries and doubt in forum which is easily responded by Instructor, teaching assistance and fellow students. It is also used by instructors to check our involvement in studies.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue is that UI needs to be improved a little bit and mobile version is required for notification instead of notification on mails. Sometimes we miss the updates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very good for student engagement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Piazza for my academic classes and to get help in completing the assignments. It really helps in getting good scores when your peers provide answer to your questions.

A reasonably good question-answer platform for classes

What do you like best about the product?
Piazza has most of the features one would want in a question-answer platform for classes; there are instructors, TAs, and students who can post notes, questions, and answers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI of Piazza isn't the best, and there are some bugs here and there - for instance, sometimes the app crashes, or redirecting/linking to other questions doesn't work correctly. It would also be better if students were able to delete their own posts and archive classes that are over. It also feels like they are not doing as much
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Piazza is helpful for running and taking courses; there are statistics for the instructors, and other features such as polling, endorsing, commenting, anonymity, and following that make the platform useful.

Where everyone has a slice of Pizza

What do you like best about the product?
I like the different modes of posting questions. Tagging only a certain group of people is a nice feature. That is, if a student has doubt only for instructors and not the whole class, he/she can easily apply that specific feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
All the features of Piazza are quite handy. Although, the search feature has some issues on my end. When I try to search for some posts with certain keywords, it does not filter it well. However, if I search with @post_number, it filters out. Remembering the post number all-time the becomes troublesome. Other than the search feature, managing the dashboard is a little difficult, as there are too many tabs to navigate. A based format may help. Instead of minor issues, the major features behind the portal makes it fun to use and work with.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compared to other portals, Piazza is quite helpful in connecting with classmates and solving doubts in group. Especially, in this virtual world right now, it has been very helpful for communication. Overall, this is a great tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like the anonymous mode of their theme. I am a very shy person and always fumbled on asking questions in class. I used to think about what others would think. With Anonymous mode, I get my doubts solved by asking the lame to the diciest. This works well for every student. The structured and thoughtful format of Piazza makes everyone love it.

Good course support platform, interface could be made more intuitive

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Piazza allows students to post notes or questions to their peers in a course in a way that is intuitive and fairly easy to use. It is very useful that on the landing page one can see what the latest posts have been and how many are unanswered under the 'class at a glance' section. I also like that at the top of the page, assuming Piazza is being used for a class where there are different assignments, one can see a list of tabs with each assignment that they can then click to go to. Overall, the interface is fairly simple but effective and allows for students (or users in general) to access information easily and quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Every now and then over a semester using Piazza as a student in an advanced methodology course in a PhD program, I noticed that the posts statistics would take a while to update. For example, I could see that a peer had already answered a question that had been posted an previously unanswered, check out the answer, and then later on in the day log into Piazza and notice that the question once again showed up as unanswered. While this wasn't terribly inconvenient, it was a little confusing upon login and required students to figure out if the lag in the page update was due to a new question actually being posted, or simply to a delay in the page updating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Piazza to track assignments for an advanced doctoral methodology class, and to stay updated on instructor comments and notes. With Piazza, I am able to access assignments both current and past, and see comments from professors and graders easily. I can also see announcements about upcoming class easily, and I am able to access lecture materials and download them easily. Piazza has the benefit of ease of use and quick communication across all members of a group (in this case, a class) without overloading everyone's email inboxes.

A Really Nice Q&A Platform for Courses

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is very intuitive and easy to use in Piazza. It only takes a few minutes to set up a new class. The interface is pleasing and efficient. I like that students can ask questions anonymously. I also like how customizable everything is, and how easy it is to change settings. The ability to type math symbols and write code in posts makes it an excellent choice for STEM courses.
What do you dislike about the product?
The phone app version has limited functionality. Also, when running in the browser, sometimes I have trouble getting the cursor to appear in the post window when I click in the field where you're supposed to type the post.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Piazza allows me to answer students' homework questions efficiently outside of class. I don't have to type the same answer a bunch of times in various emails. Often, the students will answer each others' questions also.

Platform to host off-classroom discussion forums

What do you like best about the product?
It provides different rooms for a single course based on the purpose. This provides focus to the discussions
What do you dislike about the product?
UI is not that great. It can be improved to a good level

Good

What do you like best about the product?
Piazza is easy to use, and is an easy platform for my students to ask each other any questions that they have about the upcoming exam, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly don't have anything bad to say. The program works as intended
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My students are able to get fast feedback on their confusion, rather than having to wait until the next class.

Complicated and can be useful but there are better softwares

What do you like best about the product?
There are two things I really like. First, any post (notes or question) can be pinned and can be assigned to a folder. This helps users to filter old posts by specific topics. Second, posts can be anonymous or public.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is just that there are more user-friendly tools. Specifically, in an educational setting, Blackboard is a much better online tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I do recommend this product. It is not a bad tool to use in an educational setting. I do not recommend using this product in combination with another tool, such as Blackboard, because they are quite similar. Blackboard is a better tool, however, if using Piazza, I would use it alone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Piazza has been used at the university I am employed at. I have used it to communicate with the students in my class. It does lead to better communication between the students and allows me to answer questions in a way that all students can see the answer.
