Configuration Management for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management facilitates the use and maintenance of complex product structures with (many) specifications and features. It prevents the uncontrolled growth of the number of products by recording product specifications at the right level. Configuration Management allows you to add self-defined attribute fields per product and product configuration. You can group these fields to simplify the management of the product attributes.
All information about your product, including the product variants, is stored in a structured way so that you can make reports and analyses. An important advantage is that this solution makes searching by product numbers and descriptions superfluous, because you can search for specific characteristics of an article. Configuration Management also provides capabilities for setting up a generic product number structure without incorporating attribute values into the item number.
