Extend the standard Advanced Find functionality to include 'negative' searching.
Enhanced Advanced Find by Bluelight CRM is a solution
available on Microsoft AppSource and is designed to allow the capability of
Negative Advanced Find searching.
The Advanced Find tool that comes as standard in Dynamics
365 is a powerful way to query all of your data. As standard it allows you to
query on any field and any related record/field, as well as selecting any
number of columns from the record directly, or associated records. Once a query
is built, it can be saved, allowing it to be accessed through Views directly.
A negative search is when you want to query on something
that does not exist. Advanced Find is a really powerful tool for queries on data
that exists in your CRM, but it can fall short when searching based on
something that hasn’t happened or isn’t recorded. Querying on fields on the
record type you are searching for has always supported negative searches, i.e.
Accounts with a Country that is not the United Kingdom and fortunately that typically
makes up the bulk of the queries we experience. Microsoft added the ability to
query for records that don’t have an associated record of a specific type, such
as Account that don’t have any Contacts. The specific negative searching that
isn’t available however is where you are trying a combination of both, i.e.
filtering on an associated record.
