Academic English Auto-Suggest

This auto-suggest tool recommends academic English phrases as you type in real-time in Word from a database of over 5,000 common academic English phrases, such as ‘implications for future research.’ It is the largest database of its kind in the world which was manually created using a unique lemmatized concgramming methodology and custom concordance software and includes over 5,000 original example sentences as well for each phrase to help teach proper use of the phrases in context. This tool was derived from the following study: Rogers, J., et al (2021) The creation and application of a large-scale corpus-based academic multi-word unit list in English for Specific Purposes, 62(4), 142-157. It is also the result of a $40,000 USD Japanese government research grant. Target users include native and non-native English students and professors writing master’s and PhD theses or research papers.
